Nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains - on 50 acres of rolling farmland and woodland in Cherokee County, South Carolina - we're a kennel breeding AKC registered German Shepherd Dogs. The kennel shares the land with native wildlife - deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, etc. - providing a serene setting for breeding and raising German Shepherd Dogs.

What's New?

Right now we own eighteen dogs, seven breeding females and three breeding males - all German Shepherds.   We have several others who are too young (or too old) to breed.

• We've been able to place several that we're not able to use in our breeding program for one reason or another into good pet homes. 
• We're extremely proud of our Bella, a pup from Tasha's first litter.  She is now an experienced mom and produces some beautiful pups. Last November was our first second generation litter.

• In May of '13 Alisha came to Ravenna Kennels.  She is from an American line from California that always produces large gorgeous gsd.  Her first litter with us was born in December '13.

• Our black & red sweetheart Nadia is an all-German from Bells and Jaeger, born here at Ravenna Kennels. 
• Cayce was aso born here at Ravenna Kennels to Fancy and Max (both have since passed).  Cayce picked us as belonging to her and we have had no regrets.  Her first litter was born in '14.
• On Nov 13, 2012, our kennels and our records were inspected by AKC and found to be "in compliance" with the AKC Rules and Regulations.
• On the OFA front,  Bella's, Ellie's, Jetta's, Amara's, Alisha's, Misty's and Cayce's hips all checked out "Good".   Eli, Braeden, & Kohle have been OFA prelim'ed.  Caroline will be checked soon.
• And we recently got two new boys from Louisiana, one a 6-year old sable with OFA "Good" hips, the other a 16-month old black/red handsome boy.
